Selection Methods
Selection is determined by a short thesis and oral examination.

- Doctor of Philosophy in Health Sciences
- Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing
- Enrollment: 6 (including working members)
Application Requirements:
- Applicants with masters degree or degree of CNS, and prospective graduates by March 2011.
- Applicants with masters degree or degree or equivalent conferred from foreign universities, and prospective graduates by March 2011.
- Applicants with masters degree or degree through correspondence courses in Japan.
- Applicants assigned by Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
- Applicants whose academic ability is recognized to be the same as, or greater than, those with masters degree or professional degree in the Graduate School of Health Sciences. In this case, a minimum age of 24 as of March 2011 is a requirement
Selection Method
This will be judged in an integrated manner based on one short thesis, interview and academic achievement.
Regarding changes to entrance examinations after 2018
From 2018, concerning entrance examinations for the Kumamoto University Graduate School of Health Sciences, Education Dept., Doctoral Course, external English test scores are used instead of English written exams.
Changes
Entry examination for 2017-18 (planned test date September 2016): written examination in English, oral examination
2018 entrance examination (planned test date September 2007): submission of external English test scores, oral examination
Note
For submission: External English test scores (Eiken, TOEFL (iBT), TOEIC L & R, IELTS)
Please submit original or copies of official score within the application period.
Originals will be returned.
Expiration dates: Except for Eiken tests, only scores for examinations within 2 years before the entrance examination date will be valid.
