Research Subjects
  • Screening of chemical compound exerting anti-tumor activity to hematological cancer
  • Establishment of novel diagnostic modality for AL amyloidosis
Research Focus
  • We have been trying to identify chemical compound, mostly derived from natural plants, which exert significant anti-tumor activity to hematological malignancies. We are targeting to multiple myeloma and adult T-cell leukemia because these diseases are still incurable. We also analyze mechanisms regulating anti-tumor activity of compounds and their toxicity to normal tissues as well.
  • We are trying to detect small amount of amyloid fibrils which may exist in body fluid, such as urine, blood or saliva, of amyloidosis patients by using specially prepared nano-beads or exosome separation method. This approach could replace conventional harmful biopsy modality to make a diagnosis of AL amyloidosis.
