  • Fundamental and clinical research on the effectiveness of various image correction methods in SPECT-MPI
Research Focus Factors of the image quality degradation are attenuation, scatter, collimator-distance dependent resolution and partial volume effect on SPECT-MPI. Quantitative assessment of myocardial perfusion is enabled by correcting these factors. In this laboratory, usefulness of original methods for attenuation and partial volume effect corrections has been obviated by phantom studies, and myocardial uptake is calculated as a quantitative index of myocardial blood flow. In clinical study, myocardial uptake at stress is useful to diagnose the coronary arterial disease in patients without visual perfusion abnormality.
