Overview of field and research projects

We are working to develop new methods of collecting medical images as well as algorithms for new measurement methods and visualizations that will help medical professionals with clinical diagnoses. Our research can be roughly classified into the following three areas:

  1. (1)Basic research and application of image diagnostic equipment, including X-ray computer tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), single photon and positron emission tomography (SPECT, PET), and digital image processing, in the field of medical imaging.
  2. (2)Theoretical and technological development of dosimetry, radiation measurement, and the biological effects of radiation in the field of medical physics.
  3. (3)Technological development of medical treatments in the field of nuclear medicine including diagnostic imaging and radio immunotherapy using β-ray emitting nuclides.
