Community Health Nursing

Dept. of Community Health Nursing

The aim of community health nursing is to create a society where everyone can live in health, happiness, and safety, and is where students improve their abilities to maintain and enrich health and QOL for individuals, families, groups, organizations, and entire communities, and to provide support for environmental improvement and care systems that involve all of these targets.
Through this, we pursue promotion of health maintenance of these targets, prevention of health disorders, promotion of recovery, extension of lifespan, and contribution to a peaceful and orderly society. We train public health and community nurses who can think and act together with the community based on these goals and ethical perspectives.

Dept. of Geriatric Nursing

With the ever-growing numbers of elderly living with diseases and disabilities as a result of changes to disease patterns, the expectations for the role of nurses in supporting the elderly and their families are increasing. Students obtain practical nursing abilities and learn about the basic theories, the changes to mental and physical function as we age, and the characteristic health concepts and vital functions in old age so that people living to later ages can live out the rest of their lives actively and as they like.

Dept. of Home Care Nursing

The Department of Home Care Nursing educates students to understand the current need for a transition to home care as a result of a rapidly declining birthrate and aging population in Japan, and students also learn about community-based integrated care systems, interdisciplinary cooperation as home nursing professionals, and effective nursing mediation in order to help in the home care of patients and their families.
